Pod leader Francis Vallejo and resident artist Orlando Sanchez give a demo

The above illustrates two different approaches using the same reference photo from Francis' archive. Vallejo demonstrated a more linear method with his pen and ink technique (using Gillott 303 pen nibs, sumi ink, and sable brushes). Orlando took a more shape oriented route using Holbiens acrylic gouache along with similar sable brushes. It was a good Sunday afternoon.



The students are working hard on their first full illustration assignment. Energy is high and the work is piling up!!!!
